The 'Astronomy – unveiling the universe' gallery was inaugurated at the Regional Science Centre & Planetarium, Calicut on June 14, 2025 by Shri P A Muhammed Riyas, Hon’ble Minister for Public Works and Tourism, Govt. of Kerala.

The gallery showcases a complete journey of astronomy, from ancient sky observations to modern space exploration. It highlights the ground-breaking works of historical astronomers like Aryabhata, Ptolemy, Aryabhata, Bhaskara, Copernicus and Galileo. With many interactive models, exhibits the gallery has a detailed light-animated Samrat Yantra sundial. Key concepts such as the Solar System, the Big Bang, and the technology behind space telescopes like Hubble are presented through engaging multimedia installations. The gallery serves as an accessible and immersive gateway to understanding the universe for people of all ages.
