To commemorate International Museum Day Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai organised an exhibition ‘My Own Collection’. The exhibition was inaugurated by Ms. Tasneem Zakaria Mehta, Managing Trusty and Honorary Director, Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum (BDL), Mumbai. In the 3 days exhibition a wide range of collections from the numismatics to paintings to currencies, philately, handmade greetings cards, cotton sculptures, tour memorabilia’s maps, travel and tourism spot tickets etc. were on display for the visitors.

The aim of the exhibition was to create awareness on the importance of the collections and preservation of art and cultural objects of historical value. This will help in preserving and promoting our cultural heritage and creating interest in the audience on the importance of museums and their collections and old artefacts, sculptures, objects, history etc.

Total 43 individual collection connoisseurs from Mumbai, Bhopal, Nagpur, Jabalpur and Thane participated in the exhibition with their valuable and rare collections.
